Our Story

Soul on Fire Pizza opened its doors on December 3rd, 2019 to a ravenous crowd of pizza lovers. Previously, our owner Greg Mead worked in a family-owned business and installed customized products for Ford vans sold for commercial use. When that business closed, Greg started a career in the food service industry at Kendal at Oberlin and Spectrum Catering before he ventured out—or rather, in—to selling pizza with a trailer-mounted wood-fired pizza stove from a Colorado-based company.

As Soul On Fire’s popularity grew, so did Greg’s interest in growing his business. Greg and his family bit the bullet and purchased a lovely property in Lorain at 3819 Oberlin Avenue where they updated the interior and exterior—ready to welcome the hungry masses.

Greg runs Soul On Fire Pizza with his wife, Robin, and son, Travis, along with workers who go to church with the family.
